Seeking a Level Design position at an established game studio. Willing to relocate to anywhere in the world. Seeking competitive pay for college graduates of my skill level, and benefits such as healthcare and vacation. Am also interested in contract work, but my preference is for long term employment.

Software of choice is the Unreal Editor. Currently exploring version 4 which shipped with NakedSky's RoboBlitz. Very skilled with UnrealEd 2 and 3, and have used both for years. Also comfortable with Photoshop and 3D Studio Max and regularly use these applications to supplement level content.

I was heavily involved in UT1 and Ut2k4 mapping as a hobby in the years 2001-2005. I released 8 maps within that timeframe, all for UT1, and consider those the bulk of my old work. However, with my graduation from college, I no longer had time to devote the amount of time required to be a consistent level designer, and took a couple years off. Now I have decided to pursue Level Design as a career. In the past six months, I learned the UT2k4 editor better and released DM-Nebulon, and am anxiously awaiting the release of UT3. In the meantime, I am polishing my 3DS Max and Photoshop skills which are very strong assets to my skillset. As I work on new items and replace my old portfolio, I will post 'in progress' pictures in the Works section. Also on this website is you will find a section on theory. In school I took many courses in Architecture, but also in Anthropology, and I have given a great amount of time to understanding how humans interact with an environment, rather virtual or physical. I believe this interest forms a strong backbone for understanding how to create a convincing reality. The one thing I would give to this field is professional recognition. I think putting Level Designers on par with Architects and Interior Designers would do wonders for our field, and help validate teaching and understanding of what we do. I will use my work to encourage the world to view us as any other designer: with a large amount of respect for the forethought and passion that goes into our work. |
